Summary:

To provide technical support and monitoring of all bottling equipment and packaging techniques.


Essential Functions:

  • Perform routinely scheduled packaging line audits including but not limited to:
  • Monitor wine temperature throughout the production process
  • Monitor winemaking for compliance with wine specifications
  • Monitor oxygen levels in the wine throughout the process from pad tank to bottle
  • Monitor pressure and vacuum settings and performance on various pieces of bottling equipment
  • Monitor corker performance by checking headspace vacuum and cork integrity
  • Monitor capper performance by checking headspace pressures, headspace oxygen, removal torques and seal integrity
  • Monitor fill volumes to insure that they are within TFE and TTB specifications
  • Verify that the proper labels are being used and that their placement on the bottle is correct
  • Inspect bottle and case for accuracy and legibility of date coding
  • Inspect case sealer for proper amount and placement of glue
  • Inspect pallets for proper stretch wrapping
  • Assist in proper sample collection for the wine library
  • Perform warehouse audits of finished goods as required and provide detailed reports to management
  • Assist other departments as assigned on special projects, performing testing, and providing reports
  • Assist with the inspection of packaging materials for compliance to specifications including problem resolution with the suppliers
  • Perform as required, ongoing training within the QC Department to ensure that QC Techs are effectively trained to monitor all bottling equipment and packaging techniques
  • Responsible for understanding the Food Safety and Quality Management System and related activities, including SQF standards
  • Food Safety Responsibility:
    Report problems with the food safety management system to supervisor
  • Inspect incoming packaging supply for compliance with specifications
  • Perform independent quality control audits at various out of town co-packers
  • Monitor, perform testing, compile and analyze data, and provide reports to management on assigned special projects
  • Perform routine maintenance of analytical equipment as required
  • Responsible for making sure equipment is calibrated prior to use
  • May be responsible for maintaining calibrated equipment


Qualifications:

  • Education:
    Bachelor s in related field preferred or college level courses in chemistry and / or food science preferred
  • Years of
    Experience:
    3 or more years experience in a winery / food plant quality control
  • Knowledge of the construction of and performance characteristics of packaging materials
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Good observation and analytical skills
  • Ability to reprioritize activities on an ongoing basis depending on changing conditions
  • Ability to work with data in Excel, Access, Word and SAP
  • Ability to accurately follow instructions and take direction
  • Ability to respond to frequently changing production pressures
  • Ability to handle numerous projects in progress at one time
  • Ability to work with suppliers and plant personnel to achieve problem resolution in a professional manner
  • Valid CA Driver License and ability to maintain a clean driving record

Working Conditions:

  • Moderate to heavy physical work
  • Work site may be any one of Trinchero Family Estates facilities
  • Standing for long periods of time (8 hours per day)
  • Must comply with all safety equipment requirements including ear plugs and safety glasses
  • Exposure to various chemicals in production areas
  • Exposure to machinery, forklifts and related production equipment
  • Long and irregular hours during peak periods or on various shifts
  • Extensive walking and lifting of up to 55 pounds

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
